Mens Leisure Group - May 2012
I am about to have a few days away, meaning I shall miss the final competitive Wednesday of our Session. I shall therefore not know who is to be crowned Champion for the year.
What a nailbiting finish I am missing, with for the second year in a row, the Championship going down to the wire. At the moment it is a tie between the Champion, Andy Beveridge, and the ‘young pretender’, Ian Mathieson. Not that Ian is particularly young but it makes it sound more exciting if I write it that way! Well I cannot wait to get back to find out the winner and I shall tune into Sky Sports on Wednesday night as surely this remarkable finish will get the coverage it deserves (Alright I delude myself).
We then move on to our Annual lunch at the Clubhouse of Pitfirrane Golf Club when I am sure we will all have a wonderful time and the Local Chef will no doubt seek some professional help from our own travelling chef, Bert Sneddon, who will show him, if asked, around the intricacies of heating a Baynes pie.
Then on the first Wednesdays of June, July, and August we invite the ladies to attend our mornings with the proviso of course that they bring along the mandatory selection of home baking as we are all totally fed up of the selection of Digestives or Custard creams!
